SGPC donates Rs 16 lakh 70 thousand for fees of Sikh children from Sikligarh and Vanjara in Andhra Pradesh

AMRITSAR: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee handed over an amount of Rs. 16 lakh 70 thousand to the administrators of the respective schools/colleges for the fees of 105 Sikligar and Vanjara Sikh children studying in various schools/colleges in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh for the year 2023-24. Earlier, the Dharam Prachar Committee had also given an amount of Rs. 13 lakh 44 thousand for the fees of Sikligar and Vanjara Sikh children in Raipur and Chhattisgarh. This amount has been handed over to the administrators by Shiromani Committee members Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta, Surjit Singh Bhittevad, Sukhwarsh Singh Pannu and Secretary Balwinder Singh Kahlwan.

Speaking in this regard, Shiromani Committee member Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta said that along with the propagation of religion, the Shiromani Committee has always played a leading role in social work. For the past many years, school/college fees are paid every year to make Sikligar and Vanjara Sikh children self-reliant, so that they can stand on their own feet in the future. He said that as per the decision taken by the Shiromani Committee, the fees for the whole year are deposited at one time, so that its proper utilization is ensured. On this occasion, in-charge S. Gurmeet Singh Shaini, S. Dilsah Singh Anand and Gurdwara Inspector S. Mohandeep Singh were also present
