PHAGWARA: Pushpa Gujral Science City, in collaboration with the Punjab State Council for Science & Technology and the NCSTC, DST, Government of India, commemorated National Science Day 2025. The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 50 students from various schools. This year's theme, "Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science & Innovation for Viksit Bharat, " emphasized the pivotal role of young minds in shaping the future of science, technology, and innovation.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rajesh Grover, Director, Science City, emphasized that true strength of any country lies in the hands of its younger generation, and it is their vision and dedication that will determine the trajectory of national progress. Further, India's youth have the potential to be the catalysts for global change, especially in the fields of technology and research. By nurturing scientific curiosity and encouraging innovative thinking, they can position India as a global leader in these domains. He underscored the need to cultivate a spirit of inquiry, research, and innovation that will empower students to push boundaries and contribute meaningfully to society.
State Awardee Mrs. Rapwinder Kaur was the resource person. She conducted an interactive and engaging session for the participants, capturing their attention and enthusiasm. She brilliantly involved the students in a series of fun and hands-on activities that illustrated core scientific principles, including charges, pressure, friction, mirrors, sound, and force. Through these engaging experiments, the students actively participated, experienced science in action, and deepened their understanding in a simplified and enjoyable manner.
