Says, my bags are always ready, not scared of dismissal attempts
CHANDIGARH: Akal Takhat Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh today strongly rebutted the threats and plans to remove him from the post and said that he was not scared of attempts to dismiss him. "My bags are always ready", he said.
Giani Raghbir Singh has also made it clear that seven member committee set up by Akal Takht would start the membership of Akali Dal, not agreeing with the SAD decision to continue membership drive in violation of Akal Takht edcit. He said that if two members Advocate Harjinder Singh and Kirpal Singh Badungar would not join the committee, he will appoint any leader out of five to head the committee.
Jathedar also said that the meeting of five high priests would be held in a few days.
It is believed that certain leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal(Badal) who are not happy with the decision of Akal Takht to punish former SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal are hatching conspiracy to remove Akal Takht Jathedar. They are encouraged by dismissal of Giani Harpreet Singh Jathedar of Takht Damdama Sahib.
The critics of Sukhbir Singh Badal are accusing him for targeting Sikh high priests to serve his political interests and warned that it would damage the Sikh community for long times to come. It is understood that Sukhbir Badal had authorised former SAD MLA Virsa Singh Valtoha and Delhi Sikh leader Paramjit Singh Sarna to launch vilification campaign against Sikh Jathedars. Valtoha had targeted Giani Harpreet Singh and now Sarna is targeting Giani Raghbir Singh.
