CHANDIGARH: The two week Online Refresher Course on Teaching and Research in Social Sciences concluded at Panjab University
Director, Research and Development Cell, Panjab University, Prof. Yojana Rawat and Dean, College Development Council (DCDC), Prof. Sanjay Kaushik graced the valedictory ceremony as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour. As many as 70 participants from across India participated in the two weeks course organised by UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (formerly known as UGC-Human Resource Development Centre/UGC-Academic Staff College), Panjab University, Chandigarh.
The course aimed to foster academic enrichment, professional development, and interdisciplinary collaboration for participants across various social science disciplines. The Refresher Course was meticulously designed to include a wide range of activities and sessions to ensure a holistic learning experience. Key components of the course included expert lectures that were delivered by 31 distinguished resource persons from prestigious institutions such as Central Universities, IIPA, IIT, NITTTR, Ministry of Finance (GOI), and Panjab University. The sessions covered themes such as emerging trends in social sciences, pedagogical innovations, methodologies and interdisciplinary approaches.
Course Coordinator of the Refresher Course, Dr Rajni, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, Centre for Distance and Online Education, Panjab University, Chandigarh, presented the report of the course in the valedictory. She highlighted that the course welcomed participants from all over India of various regions and institutions, representing a multitude of experiences and perspectives. Their active engagement and meaningful interactions created a dynamic learning environment that enriched the overall experience for everyone involved. The participants provided overwhelmingly positive feedback, commending the well-structured sessions, the expertise of resource persons, and the interactive nature of the program. Dr. Rajni, the Course Coordinator, expressed her gratitude to PU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig, for her support and encouragement, the resource persons for their invaluable contributions, Prof. Jayanti Dutta, Director, MMTTC, for her guidance and meticulous planning, the technical staff for their seamless coordination, the participants for their enthusiasm and active involvement.
