Guru Nanak Dev University celebrated the “DIWALI FESTIVAL - GREEN GLOW FEST”

AMRITSAR: The Department of Education of Guru Nanak Dev University celebrated the “DIWALI FESTIVAL under the title “GREEN GLOW FEST” with great enthusiasm under the guidance of, Head, Department of Education, Prof (Dr) Amit Kauts and Prof (Dr) Deepa Sikand Kauts, Dean Faculty of Education, Department of Education.

To showcase the vibrancy and diversity of the festival, the Department premises were illuminated with Diyas and colourful decoration with Rangoli and Torans. The various competitive events were organised by the department amongst the classes of the department such as Rangoli making; Toran/ Bhandhanwar; Diya Decoration; Mehandi designing; classroom decoration, etc. the science club of the department organised various stalls of funny Science Games which were the eye-catching aspect of the day. The games brought together students of all classes of the department to engage in amusing science-based activities. The event aimed to make science an enjoyable experience with fun and entertainment.

The results of the participating classes were announced by Prof (Dr) Amit Kauts, Head, Department of Education, after consultation with the members of the Judgment Committee, at the end of celebratory and Competitive events. In Rangoli Competition first prize bagged byB.Ed (Special Education SEM-I), Second by Advanced Diploma in ECCE (SEM-I) and third by B.Sc. ECCE (SEM-I) and B.Com.B.Ed (ITEP) class. In Toran making competition the first prize bagged by B.A.B.Ed (ITEP), second prize won by B.Sc. ECCE and third by M.A and M.Ed class. In Diya making category the first prize won by B.A. B.Ed (ITEP), second by B.Sc.B.Ed (ITEP) and third prize won by B.Ed ( Sepecial Education MD, SEM-I), in Mehandi designing competition the first prize won by B.A.B.Ed (ITEP, SEM-III), Second by B.A.B.Ed (ITEP, SEM-I) and third by B.Com. B.Ed (ITEP, SEM-I) and in classroom decoration first prize bagged by B.Sc. B.Ed, second by B.Sc ECCE class and third prize won by Advanced Diploma in ECCE (Sem-I).

The Concluding remarks was presented by Prof (Dr) Deepa Sikand kauts by giving the Diwali Festival wishes and blessings to all and She also requested all the people not to use firecrackers as they cause a lot of air pollution and she also told us to use made-in-India products. Lastly, the program ended with the singing of the national anthem.
