CME cum workshop at RBU to mark World Radiography Day

MOHALI: The Department of Medical Radiology & Imaging Technology, University School of Physiotherapy & Radiology of Rayat Bahra University, in collaboration with the Rayat Bahra College of Nursing and the Indian Society of Radiographers & Technologists, Chandigarh Chapter, commemorated World Radiography Day by organizing the 4th CME cum workshop.

The event focused on the theme "Transforming Healthcare with Patient Care in Radiology & Biomedical Waste Management." It brought together students, faculty, and professionals in the field to discuss critical aspects of patient care in radiology and the importance of effective biomedical waste management practices.

This event was held under the leadership of Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chairman of Rayat Bahra Group of Institutions and Bahra Hospital, and under guidance of Vice-Chancellor Dr Parvinder Singh. Avinash Rai Khanna, former Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha, was the Chief Guest.

The program commenced with lighting of the ceremonial lamp and Saraswati Vandana. Dr Lalit Kumar Gupta, Professor Cum Dean, USPR, Dr Deepika, Director and Principal of the College of Nursing, was the Chairpersons at the CME.

Dr Simerjit Kaur, DSW, Director IQAC, International Affairs, Dr Pankaj Koul, Dean USAHS, also graced the occasion which witnessed participation of over 200 delegates.

The CME cum Workshop on World Radiography Day featured focused scientific sessions on radiology and biomedical waste management.

Ankur Saini opened with "World Radiography Day: Celebrating the Science behind the Scan, " followed by Neha from RBCN, RBU, discussing biomedical waste sources. Ipshita Adhikary, from USPR, explored the health impacts of healthcare waste and failed management practices.

Mamta Panda discussed Emergency Handling and Safe Transfers in Radiology, and Sunanda from RBCN covered biomedical waste segregation and transport. Prashant concluded with a session on Needle Stick Injury and safety measures.

Dr Lalit Kumar Gupta, Dean USPR , presided over the valedictory function and proposed a vote of thanks.

The CME cum Workshop proved to be an effective platform for professionals, educators, and students to exchange insights, broaden their networks, and explore the evolving landscape of healthcare and radiology.
