All Set for 55th Foundation Day Celebrations at Guru Nanak Dev University

AMRITSAR: Guru Nanak Dev University is all set to celebrate its 55th Foundation Day on November 24, 2024 (Sunday), with a series of events lined up across various venues within the University Campus.

Prof. Karanjeet Singh Kahlon, Registrar, said that committees were formed to ensure the smooth conduct of the celebrations. The day will start with the Bhog Sri Akhand Path Sahib at the University Gurudwara Sahib, followed by Shabad Kirtan by Hazuri Ragi Sri Darbar Sahib Bhai Gurpreet Singh Noor & Ardas.

He said that one of the highlights of the Foundation Day will be the Academic Lectures delivered by esteemed scholars, taking place at 11:00 AM in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan Auditorium. The main speakers are Dr. (Mrs.) Rajesh Gill, Professor (Retd.) Department of Sociology, Panjab University, Chandigarh; Dr. Ravi Ravinder, Professor, Department of Punjabi & Dean, Culture Council, University of Delhi, Delhi and Dr. Amarjit Singh, Director, Centre on Studies in Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Guru Nanak Dev University.

In addition, the celebrations will feature a captivating Painting Exhibition and a Folk Art Exhibition showcasing the creative talents of students from affiliated colleges. These exhibitions will be held at The Gallery-History & Dreams and near the Bhai Gurdas Library, promising to be a visual and cultural feast for attendees. Guru-Ka-Langar will be served to all guests at a designated area opposite the Multipurpose Indoor Gymnasium, emphasizing the university's commitment to community and togetherness.

As the day comes to a close, a Kirtan Darbar will be organized at the University Gurdwara Sahib, providing a fitting end to a day filled with spirituality and celebration. All members of the university community and the public are invited to join in the festivities as Guru Nanak Dev University proudly commemorates this significant milestone in its history.
