MOHALI: NSS Day was celebrated with enthusiasm by the NSS department of Rayat Bahra University under the theme `Swachhata Hi Sewa’. Deputy Director of NSS Punjab Kulwinder Singh was the Chief Guest and SNO Punjab Rupinder Kaur was Guest of Honour.
RBU Director (NSS) AS Chahal with NSS volunteers were present during the celebrations. On this occasion NSS volunteers undertook a cleanliness drive on the campus and adjoining areas of the University campus. Trees were planted under the theme `Ek Ped Maa Ke Nam’.
Chancellor of the university Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Vice-Chancellor Dr Parvinder Singh, along with five judges were present during the plantation drive.
A lecture on cybercrime was conducted by Inspector Amandeep Singh wherein he made the audience aware of different types of cyber fraud.
A play on `Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ was staged by Jaideep Singh along with other NSS volunteers. Everybody praised the performance of the actors in the play. Other cultural items including Bhangra, dance and singing were also presented by the students.
Deputy Director Kulwinder Singh and SNO Punjab Rupinder Kaur praised Nss volunteers and their performance. The Chief Guest said that everyone should enroll themselves on My Bharat portal.
