MOHALI: Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Mohali (Jhanjeri) organized its 6th Convocation Ceremony, where 1353 students were awarded degrees. This grand celebration marked not only the academic success, personal development, and perseverance of the students but also became a memorable milestone in their lives.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Vikas Goyal, Vice President, FIS – a leading name in the global fintech industry. A key highlight of the convocation was the felicitation of 99 university-level toppers and 21 gold medalists, whose outstanding academic performances were widely appreciated.
Students who are now working at international companies across cities like Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Gurugram through campus placements also expressed gratitude to the management for facilitating such excellent career opportunities. Further strengthening its commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship, the institute announced a donation of ₹1 crore to its Business Incubator Association, aimed at transforming the entrepreneurial dreams of students into reality.
In his inspirational address, Vikas Goyal urged students to keep learning throughout life and lead with honesty. Sharing the secret of his own success, he said, “Success is not a destination but a continuous journey. The knowledge gained here is the foundation of your future.” He lauded CGC Mohali’s contribution to quality education, industry linkage, placements, and especially its strong focus on practical learning.
Chairman Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal stated that many of these graduates are now working at top international companies with impressive packages. According to him, most students at CGC Jhanjeri receive placement offers even before completing their final degree, which is why reputed global companies consistently visit the campus.
Young MD Arsh Dhaliwal emphasized that today, the responsibility of educational institutions goes beyond merely awarding degrees – they must provide the right guidance to help students build successful careers. He stated that CGC Jhanjeri’s students not only top university exams but also achieve national and international recognition. The excitement and pride of the degree recipients were clearly visible. A special moment at the ceremony was when Sonam, a B.Sc. MLS student, received a ₹21, 000 cheque under the Late Sardarni Gurdev Kaur Academic Excellence Award.
