Tanzanian students observe Tapisha Day at RBU

MOHALI: Tanzanian Students Association of Punjab and Haryana commemorated Tapisha Day honouring the legacy of President John Pombe Magufuli.

Members of the Tanzanian Students Association of Punjab and Haryana gathered at Rayat Bahra University to commemorate Tapisha Day dedicated to honouring and mourning the passing of their beloved 5th President, Dr. John Pombe Magufuli.

This day stands as a solemn reflection on his leadership, legacy, and the profound impact he had on Tanzania.
Dean Academic Affairs Dr Satish Kumar Bansal appreciated the spirit of the international students for commemorating this important day by honouring the legacy of their past presidents.

Michael, the coordinator, thanked Rayat Bahra University for respecting the values and beliefs of its international students and permitting them to observe the day.

Director International Affairs, Dr Simerjit Kaur said the association also honoured the legacy of Sheikh Abeid Amani Karume, the first president of Zanzibar, for his leadership, contribution to independence and the unity of Tanzania.

Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra stated that Rayat Bahra University believes in unity in diversity, catering education and building careers of students from more than 50 countries. He further stated that the university offered freedom to its students from diverse cultures to express their emotions and beliefs in their community and allowed them to celebrate their important moments. Dr Manoj Bali Dean along with other senior faculty members was also present. The event also witnessed the cultural programme and football matches. City University Team won the football match and was awarded with medals and a trophy.
