AMRITSAR: Department of Apparel and Textile Technology of Guru Nanak Dev University organized a skill presentation event, "Vastra Mahaostav 2025" at Dashmesh Auditorium of the University under the dynamic leadership and blessings of Vice Chancellor Prof. Karamjeet Singh. The main objective of the event was to explore the innovative ideas of our departmental emerging Fashion Designers students and provide them a platform to show their skills.
The students designed and prepared the dresses on their own in the labs with novelty. Total 14 themes were prepared with very unique and creative names like Vitiligo, Elements of Earth, Gothic, Victorian era, Egyptian etc. The interesting part of the event was participation of university students and faculty children as models.
Prof. Balwinder Singh, Co-ordinator, Golden Jubliee Centre for Enterpreneuship and Innovation presided the event as Chief Guest along with Dr. M.L Singh, Director Malviya Mission Teacher Training Centre, as Guest of Honor. Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Assistant Professor and Head PG department of Fashion Designing at K.M.V. College Jalandhar, Dr. Beenu Kapoor, Associate Professor and Head PG department of Home Science & Fashion Designing at BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, Ms. Barun Kaur Mann (Anchor at DD Punjabi, RJ at All India Radio, Fashion Designer, Model & Fashion choreographer), were the esteemed judges of the event. Their valuable insights and judgment was helpful for the designers to reach their full potential.

The esteemed faculty members of various departments of the university , Dr. Amandeep Singh, Dr. Balbir Singh, Dr. Satwinderjit kaur, Dr. Jatinder kaur, Dr. Sunil Kumar, and others graced the occasion with their presence. Dr. Varinder Kaur, Head of department of Apparel and Textile Technology thanked all the respected members and students of the University for their Invaluable Contributions. This was the first fashion show conducted by the university which witnessed the successful skill development of the students as budding designers.
