Man duped of Rs 1.88 crore on the pretext of supplying cheaper gold by fraudsters. One accused arrested.Four already held

KAITHAL: During the special campaign launched under the guidance of SP Rajesh Kalia to arrest the criminals involved in various criminal incidents police arrested one criminal who was a member of a gang who threatened to kill a man who had been earlier lured to invest in cheaper gold.

Wanted accused by CIA-1 police Was arrested and produced by a local court .Police spokesperson said that according to the complaint lodged in Titram police station of Kaithal by Ramphal resident of Dhundwa, on November 1, 2018, a young man known to him as Anil resident of Hajwana bus stand met him at Kaithal. Ramphal took him to his flat in Gulmohar City Kaithal, where Anil told him that he is in the business of supplying cheap gold, and he can get him cheaper gold. Caught in their trap, Ramphal, three days later, after meeting Anil and his other associates and fixing the rate of Rs 23, 500 per 10 grams in Zirakpur, handed over Rs 1 crore 88 lakh to the accused at his flat in Gulmohar on 13 November 2018 for purchasing gold on a large scale. Rupees were given in cash, but later he was not given the gold, and the accused threatened to kill him if he asked for the cash back.

The spokesperson said that while investigating the case under the leadership of CIA-1 in-charge Inspector Aman Kumar, the team of Sub Inspector Jaswant Singh and ASI Rajeev Kumar, the wanted accused in the case, Ajay, resident of Sinsar village of Jind district, was arrested. In the said case, 4 other members of the notorious fraudster gang had already been arrested by the police. Accused Ajay was also involved in the activities of said gang. Police remand of the accused for 3 days was obtained from the court on Saturday for comprehensive interrogation.
