KAITHAL: Three accused were arrested by CIA-1 police in the case of kidnapping of a youth resident of Kalayat and demanding ransom. Police spokesperson said that as per the complaint of Kalayat resident Rohit, someone called his brother Sumit and called him to Sajuma Road Kalayat on the evening of 17th November.
Later that night, a call came to his house on which Sumit was crying and that he was threatened by kidnappers who demanded a ransom of Rs 5 lakh. Regarding which a case was registered in Kalayat police station. Seeing the seriousness of the case, SP Rajesh Kalia had given orders to CIA-1, Special Detective Unit, Kalayat Police Station to arrest the accused as soon as possible and free the youth.
As police chases kidnappers Sumit, was left on the road near village Kangthali by the accused.While further investigation of the case was conducted by the team of ASI Praveen Kumar under the leadership of CIA-1 in-charge PSI Aman Kumar, the accused Subeg Singh alias Sonu, resident of Ramthali, Gurpindra Singh, resident of Ladana Chakku and Jarnail Singh, resident of Majri were arrested. The arrest of the accused revealed that Raju, a resident of Kharkan, an associate of the arrested accused, had the identity of Sumit, who had lured Sumit through some person to send him abroad. On November 17, the accused called Sumit outside his house and kidnapped him and took him with them. All the accused are drug addicts and demanded money as ransom for drugs. All the accused were produced in the court on Thursday, from where Two days police remand comprehensive interrogation of all the accused and arrest of other accused was granted.
