PHILLAUR:Former Punjab Youth Congress president and Phillaur assembly constituency in charge Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary welcomed Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi during his visit to village Bundala here on Friday.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Jalandhar Member of Parliament Santokh Singh Chaudhary and Punjab Cabinet Minister Pargat Singh.
Accompanied by local Congress leaders and thousands of workers, Chaudhary warmly welcomed CM Channi amid chants of ‘CM Channi Zindabad’ and ‘Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary Zindabad’.
Chief Minister Channi was in Bundala for the renaming of Govt Smart School and a road after Comrade Harkishan Singh Surjeet. During his short visit, he also met with the people and shook their hands.
Vikramjit Chaudhary said that it was the first time Channi had visited the Phillaur assembly constituency after becoming the Chief Minister of Punjab, and hence, there was much excitement among the people.
“In a short period, Charanjit Channi Ji has taken several initiatives for the welfare of Punjab, due to which he has earned immense goodwill. The warm welcome given by thousands of people today is a testament to this, ” he said, adding that thanks to the policies and programmes of the Punjab government, Congress would register a landslide win in the forthcoming assembly polls and script history.
