PHILLAUR:Former Punjab Youth Congress president and Phillaur assembly constituency in charge Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary laid foundation stones of a slew of development projects worth Rs 1.50 crore in villages Dosanjh Kalan, Bara Pind, Atta, Patti Masandpur, Patti Kamalpur and Sang Dhesian here on Sunday.
The works include construction of link roads from Dosanjh Kalan – Nano Majaara Road to Kultham at Rs 35.40 lakhs, from GT Road (Phillaur – Phagwara) to Nirankari Bhawan Atta at Rs 27.14 lakhs, Sang Dhesian to Bansian road at Rs 21 lakhs, and Bada Pind – Phalpota road to Bara Pind – Dhuleta road at 5.90 lakhs. Market Committee Goraya would complete these projects.
Additionally, under Punjab Nirman Programme, the new projects include construction of streets and boundary wall of garbage dump ground in Sang Dhesian at Rs 23 lakhs, construction of lane, dharamshalas and community hall in Bara Pind at Rs 17 lakhs, installation of sewage pipeline and construction of streets in Patti Masandpur at Rs 10 lakhs, the building of Ravidas dharamshala and streets in Patti Kamalpur at Rs 6 lakhs, and construction of dharamshalas in Atta at Rs 5 lakhs.
Speaking on these occasions, Vikramjit Chaudhary said that the laying of foundation stones today fulfilled many long pending demands of the people of these villages.
“The completion of these works such as link roads, streets and community halls would be immensely beneficial to local residents. One after the other, all areas of the Phillaur constituency are being developed, and amenities are being provided to the people. Our Congress government is committed to building the best quality infrastructure so that people do not have to face any inconvenience, " he said.
He informed that the Phillaur constituency had received more than two hundred crores of grants since the Congress party came to power in 2017.
He said that the Congress government led by Charanjit Singh Channi had taken several initiatives for the development of the state, and the people were extremely happy with the proactive steps taken for their welfare.
“The love and enthusiasm of the people for the Congress party show that they are happy with our government's policies and will vote for the Congress again in the upcoming legislative assembly elections, ” Chaudhary said.
