CHANDIGARH: Sukhpal Singh Khaira and two other MLAs of Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) today joined Congress party here in presence of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and his wife Preneet Kaur MP. All of them were suspended by AAP for anti-party activities.
Two other MLAs who joined Congress are Jagdev Singh Kamalu from Mour and Pirmal Singh Dhaula Bhadour constituency. They had backstabbed the party and joined hands with Khaira when he was expelled from AAP. Khaira had contested last Lok Sabha election from Bathinda and lost his deposit.
It is learnt that AICC acting president Sonia Gandhi had given her consent for joining of three MLAs. Khaira had met Sonia Gandhi in Delhi twice in the past month. Harish Rawat AICC General Secretary incharge of Punjab and PPCC president Sunil Jakhar were in Delhi and couldn't attend the joining ceremony.
