AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Akali Dal has called a meeting of the party's core committee on Tuesday, October 22 at the party's headquarters in Chandigarh at 12 noon to discuss the present political situation.
Dr Daljit Singh Cheema party spokesman said that the upcoming four by-elections will be discussed in detail in the meeting.
The Shiromani Akali Dal will also finalize its strategy regarding the annual election of office-bearers of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee to be held on October 28.
Apart from this, the party will also take stock of the major crisis of paddy procurement in the state. Neither paddy is being bought nor lifting from the markets. Farmers are facing the worst crisis ever.
