AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has taken strong notice of the 'baseless' allegations of website data 'misapproperiation' made by a political activist Sarchand Singh Khiala.
Additional Secretary to the SGPC Sukhminder Singh said that all the data of the first website is to be found on the new website of the SGPC, about which work is in progress.
He clarified that the new website of the SGPC was launched last January as the domain of the first website, SGPC.net, represented a network, while the SGPC is a larger body. Therefore, the domain of the Shiromani Committee was changed to SGPC Amritsar.org.
He further said that website is constantly being updated, which will contain all the data of the first website.Sukhminder Singh said that the new website of the SGPC has been updated as per the requirements of the times. He said.
Dismissing the allegations made by Sarchand Singh that the data of the first website had been misappropriated, he said that all the data of the website of the SGPC was safe and was being updated on the new website. He said that as far as the old recorded kirtan, katha, mukhwak and books etc. were concerned, they were being made available on the new website. In addition, information on Sikh history, Sikh doctrines and non-Sikh etiquette will be part of the website.
In this regard, a committee of Sikh scholars has been constituted by the President of the Shiromani Committee, Bibi Jagir Kaur. Dr. Balwant Singh Dhillon Paramvir Singh, Principal Prabhjot Kaur, Dr. Dr. Inderjit Singh Gogoani Amarjit Singh and Dr. Jogeshwar Singh.
Not only this, many new books on history and Sikhism will also be a part of this website. He said that the new website was an attempt to centralize all the institutions of the SGPC, in which the websites of various institutions were being centralized in one place. He said that the work of updating the website is yet to be completed.
