AMRITSAR: Sukhbir Singh Badal president of Shiromani Akali Dal has dissolved the core committee of the party after the working committee gave him the authority to reorganize the party organization.
A party spokesman said that decision was taken after discussion with the senior party leaders at a meeting held in Chandigarh on Tuesday. The core committee would be reconstituted shortly.
The meeting also discussed the party's line of action for four assembly bye-elections likely to be held in near future.
It is understood that decision to dissolve core committee was taken to sideline the rebel SAD leaders who are demanding change in the party leadership.
