KCA organized a Guest lecture on Journalism in the age of New media

AMRITSAR: PG Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Khalsa College Amritsar (KCA) in collaboration with IIC organized a Guest lecture on Journalism in the age of New Media.

On this occasion the College Principal Dr. Mehal Singh along with Vice Principal Dr. Taminder Singh, honored the keynote speaker Gurjot Baweja College Principal Dr. Mehal Singh congratulated the entire department for the successful conduct of this Guest Lecture. College Vice Principal Dr. Taminder Singh shared his views that Journalism in this age of social media emphasized on audience engagement and citizen journalism. The digital age has made it easier for people to be exposed to misinformation, so it's more important than ever for journalists to be ethical and responsible.

Gurjot Baweja told the students that in today's era journalism modernity has increased and the main reason for this is Artificial Intelligence. He added that innovation has come in journalism through Artificial Intelligence, but along with it, fake news has also increased.

On this occasion, Department Head Dr. Sania Marwaha shared the fact that internet allows journalists to distribute stories in real-time across multiple platforms and Digital storytelling techniques include multimedia formats to enhance news presentation. Department Incharge Dr. Sania Marwaha along with Other staff members Prof. Surbhi Sharma, Prof. Bhavini Khanna, Prof. Jahanvi Rajput, Prof. Hari Singh, Prof. Jaskirat Singh, Prof. Ashutosh Thakur were also present on this occasion.
