AMRITSAR: Panchayat elections in the district will be conducted in a transparent and fearless manner and no obstruction will be allowed. Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni presided over the meeting held with the District Police Chief , ROs and DSPs in view of preparations for the Panchayat elections. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner instructed all the ROs to ensure that all arrangements from filling nomination papers to polling are completed on time.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that nomination papers can be filled from 27 September 2024 to 4 October 2024 for Panchayat elections. He said that no nomination paper will be filled on the official holiday. Apart from this, the filled nomination papers will be scrutinized on October 5 . Nomination papers can be withdrawn on 7 October 2024 . He said that the voting will be held on 15 October 2024 and the results of the polls will be announced on the same day.
