ROPAR: The Ropar police has challaned 964 persons for not wearing masks to make Mission Fateh a success.As many as 180 persons were booked for spitting on earth.
SSP Swapan Sharma said that as per orders of Punjab government, the people not wearing masks are fined Rs.200 and Rs.100 fine was collected for spitting on the floor. He said these violators were also put to home quarantine and if they found moving out they would be fined Rs, 500.He said that now the fines had been revised to Rs.500 for not wearing mask and spitting in public place and Rs.2000 would be charged from people violating home quarantine. He said that now police would impose revised rates of fines.
SSP said that wearing masks was compulsory to defeat Coronavirus and the Punjab government has issued strict orders to implement the instructions.
