PHAGWARA: In a significant step under Punjab’s ongoing education reform initiative, development works worth ₹84 lakh were inaugurated today across 11 government schools in Kapurthala district. The projects aim to strengthen the foundational infrastructure of government-run schools and enhance the quality of education.
Lok Sabha MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal inaugurated new additional classrooms and boundary walls at Government Primary School Bhagtpura, Government School Mansadevi Nagar, and Government School Kotrani, with a combined cost of ₹51 lakh. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted that development work will be carried out across 255 senior secondary schools and 543 primary schools in the district.
Additionally, Chairman of the Punjab BC Land Development and Finance Corporation, Sandeep Saini, dedicated development projects worth ₹4 lakh at Government Primary School Bhagtpur and Government School Shekhupur to the public.
In the Bhulath constituency, Director of the Water Resources Department and Punjab Cricket Association member, Harsimran Singh Ghumman, inaugurated development works totaling ₹22.80 lakh at Government Primary School Gazigadana, Government High School Dogranwal Hamira, and Government Primary School Hamira.
In Sultanpur Lodhi constituency, Chairman of the Kapurthala Nagar Sudhar Trust, Sajjan Singh Cheema, inaugurated projects worth ₹6.56 lakh at Government Middle School Ratta Nau Abad, Government School Jhuggian Gulam, and Government School Dewlanwal.
The inauguration ceremonies were attended by various dignitaries, including Aam Aadmi Party’s Phagwara constituency in-charge and former minister Joginder Singh Mann, and AAP spokesperson Harji Mann.
