CHANDIGARH:The Punjab Government has facilitated the process of issuing school leaving certificates to the students so that the students would no longer have to visit the schools again and again to get these certificates.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the school education department said that the department has set up an online portal to facilitate the process of issuing school leaving certificates. The letter issued by the School Education Secretary Mr. Krishan Kumar directed that the Superintendent of the office of the concerned district education officer should log in to this newly developed portal and take a copy of the transfer certificate received online from the school. After that he will get the signature of the district education officer and give it to the concerned within two hours. In case DEO not present in the office than it will be released immediately after his arrival. According to the spokesperson, in case of absence of the Superintendent in the office, his responsibility will be discharge by the senior staff present in the office.
The school principals have been directed to match the details of the concerned student with the school register before uploading the certificate on the portal. The District Education Officers have been directed not to ask the records of any school in this regard and no teacher / staff would be called in the office of the concerned district education officer for this purpose.
