National Level Pressure needed on Government of India for Release of Captive Sikh Youth: Giani Harpreet Singh

AMRITSAR: Bandhi Chhod Diwas was celebrated with devotion and fervor at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib by Guru Hargobind VI, the sixth Patshah, to commemorate the release of 52 kings from Gwalior captivity and their arrival at Sri Amritsar. On this occasion millions of devotees paid obeisance at the Guru Ghar .

Giani Harpreet Singh, Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib delivered a message on behalf of the Sikh community from the Darshani Deori of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib.

"It is unfortunate that today our Sikh youth who have been lodged in various jails of India for a long time and have completed the sentences prescribed by the courts but the Government of India is not releasing them, " he said.

Giani Harpreet Singh said that Sikh Gurus had eradicated caste and caste distinctions all over the world.

Apart from this, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Bibi Jagir Kaur and prominent personalities of the Panth also shared Gurmat ideas with the Sangat.
while addressing the Sikh community, said that on this great day, we were freed from the captivity by the Sixth Gur Hargobind Sahib by releasing 52 political prisoners from Gwalior Fort. Guidance is needed.

The national institutions of the Sikh community need to put serious pressure on the Government of India at the national level to release the captive Sikh youth.
He said that today some people were forcibly converting people due to greed or misguidance for which the nation needs to be vigilant. To this end, Sikh organizations should devise programs that would free the entire Sikh community from poverty, illiteracy, disease and helplessness.

He said that people were suffering financially and mentally due to the recent Corona epidemic and now it was imperative for one Sikh to co-operate with another Sikh to recover from this tragedy.

Sharing views from the Darshani Deori of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib on the occasion of Bandi Chodh Diwas, Shiromani Committee President Bibi Jagir Kaur congratulated the Sangat on Bandi Chodh Diwas and united the entire Khalsa Panth to spread Gurbani, Gur-Itihas and Gurmat Rahini. .
She said that Bandi Chodh Diwas was a unique saga of the unique history of the Sikh Nation, setting an example for human freedom as well as rights, truth and justice. By releasing 52 kings from Gwalior captivity, the sixth king showed the message of protection of basic human rights and the way to strengthen the bonds of communal harmony. Bibi Jagir Kaur said that we should never forget that the governments of the time always tried to oppress the Sikh community. This phenomenon has not stopped even today. He said that in the 18th century, the Sikh Panth had gathered at Amritsar and devised a plan to take stock of the nation and set future priorities.
Keep adding she said that even today the nation needs to come together. The SGPC President in his address also recalled the martyrdom of Shaheed Bhai Mani Singh Ji. She said that the martyrdom of Bhai Mani Singh Ji had further strengthened the unity and national spirit in the nation.
She appealed to the sangat and especially the Sikh youth to take inspiration from the life of Bhai Mani Singh ji.
