Nakodar City police suffer acute staff shortage, with only 46 personnel manning police station.

NAKODAR: The Nakodar city police are reeling under an acute staff shortage. There are only 46 police personnel against a sanctioned strength of 110 personnel.
One sub-inspector post out of two sanctioned posts is lying vacant, four assistant sub-inspector posts are vacant out of the nine sanctioned posts.
Of the 85 constable posts, 42 are vacant. Sources said Home Guards volunteers were doing the job of constables, patrolling had been reduced, and investigations were suffering. As a result, thefts are increasing daily.
Jalandhar (rural) SSP HPS KHAKH said that we are comfortably manning police stations in the district.
