CHANDIGARH: The Senior Congress leader from Punjab and Cabinet Minister, S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa today lashed out at the Modi Government for its blatant ignorance displayed towards the 550th Parkash Purb celebrations in the budget presented today and termed it as treachery on the entire Sikh community. The minister said that the Union Finance Minister has heaped insult on the 13 crore ‘Nanak Naam Leva’ sangat by not even mentioning the 550th Parkash Purb even once during her entire budget speech.

In a press communiqué here today, S. Randhawa said that the leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) who are in alliance with the Union Government must make their position clear. The minister further castigating SAD said that why didn’t the Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal and President SAD Sukhbir Singh Badal felt ashamed while listening to the budget speech in the parliament. The Congress leader also added that this budget is Anti-Punjab also apart from being inimical to the interests of Sikhs as the entire Punjab and the Sikh community settled abroad is looking forward eagerly to celebrate the 550th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in November this year.

S. Randhawa also said that today’s budget has also exposed the anti-Sikh face of BJP and SAD once again which would never be forgiven by the Sikh community. He also added that if SAD really cares about the interests of the Sikhs then it is high time that break off their alliance with the BJP and shun the greed to cling on to the ministerial posts.
