KAPURTHALA: To save the villages from Corona, the Punjab Government under 'Mission Fateh-2' is continuing the testing and awareness campaign in the rural areas at full speed.
District Kapurthala, which was the first in Punjab to launch this campaign, had covered 26000 population of 15 villages on the first day itself while today 39456 population of 31 villages was covered on the third day.
Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Deepti Uppal said that under this campaign testing would be conducted in all the 618 villages of the district and the people would be made aware about the prevention of covid.
Therefore, health workers, Asha workers and ANMs are going door to door to collect information about the health of the people. Testing is being done by setting up camps at common places in each village.
On the third day of the campaign 31 villages Baghuwal, Akbarpur, Booh, Bhandal Island, Dhaliwal Island, Bijli Nangal, Bhullar Island, Mehtamawal, Mukt Ram Wala, Busowal, Sabuwal, Darewal, Doula, Sujokalia, Bamuwal, Bhatnaura Khurd, Bhatnaura Kalan, Chehru, Sangatpur, Jagpalpur, Kalasanghian, Jalowal, Kesarpur, Dhanuke Jagir, Bhulana, Dhurdianwal, Nurpur Dona, Sidhwan Dona, Avanbhikhe Shah and Kaluwal were covered .
1073 samples were taken in these villages out of which 11 were positive , she added.
