AMRITSAR: Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, President of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today inaugurated the newly constructed stand for the two wheelers of the Sangat arriving at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib for prayers here on Monday.
This stand has been set up in front of the Secretariat of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, which has been served by Baba Kashmir Singh Bhurivale. This bicycle / scooter stand is housed in an underground building.
Speaking at the inauguration, Harjinder Singh Dhami, Advocate, President of the Shiromani Committee, said that the Sikh body, the Shiromani Committee, was continuously working for the convenience of the Sangat and under this a large capacity two wheeler stand has been set up.
He said that it has an area of about 20, 000 square feet and has the capacity to accommodate 1200 to 1500 vehicles.
He thanked the Karseva Bhuriwala dignitaries and honored them with Guru Blessings saropa .
Meanwhile, Advocate Dhami in reply to a question said that it was not good for the governments to ignore the heritage route in front of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib and if the government could not take care of it then it should hand over the management to the SGPC.
He said that the previous Congress government was totally indifferent towards this and appealed to the present government to pay attention to this.
He also demanded that the present government of Punjab should open the roads leading to Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib from Sultanwind Gate and Gurdwara Shaheed Baba Deep Singh and give a Sikh heritage look.
