AMRITSAR: To further intensify the Sikh religious awareness movement in the Majha region of Punjab and to mark the upcoming two centenaries this year in a more impactful manner, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj, Acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, convened a meeting today at Sri Akal Takht Sahib with all preachers, supervisors, dhadi (ballad singers) and kavishar (poets) of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee’s (SGPC) Dharam Prachar Committee of the Majha zone.

A large number of preachers, dhadis and kavishars from the districts of Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Ferozepur, and Jalandhar participated in this gathering and expressed their firm commitment to advancing the programs outlined by Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

Before commencing the gathering, Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj, along with all the preachers, paid obeisance at Sri Akal Takht Sahib and offered Ardas (Sikh prayer) for the Chardi Kala (high spirit) of the Sikh Panth. He also recited Gurbani and connected the preachers before commencing the meeting.

The Head Granthi of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Malkeet Singh and secretary of the Dharam Parchar Committee, Bijay Singh, also participated in the meeting.
During the event, various speakers shared insights on the ongoing religious awareness efforts and deliberated on future plans. On this occasion, Bhai Jaspal Singh on behalf of the preachers, Giani Satnam Singh Ballowal from kavishars side, and Giani Jasbir Singh Valtoha from dhadi side addressed the gathering. They shared their perspectives and highlighted opportunities, challenges, and obstacles in the field of religious propagation.

Speaking after the gathering, Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj said that there was an extensive and fruitful discussion on religious awareness with Sikh preachers from the Majha zone today. He emphasized that these preachers are the devoted Sikh brothers who take Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s message directly to the grassroots level and the Sangat (congregation). He stated that it has been decided to carry forward the existing religious awareness campaign with renewed spirit, enthusiasm, and dedication, while focusing on connecting the Sangat at the village level.

He further added that all the preachers wholeheartedly committed themselves to spreading the Guru’s message among the masses with full effort and dedication. Jathedar Gargajj mentioned that discussions were also held with the preachers on further advancing the program given from Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib regarding the Khalsa Sajna Diwas (Vaisakhi) during Hola Mohalla, and that, moving forward, under the leadership of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, and with the cooperation of the SGPC and the Sangat, a vigorous religious awareness movement will be carried out across Punjab.

He expressed that while there is some despair in Punjab, it can only be addressed through the Guru's teachings and message.

Efforts through religious propagation will be made to connect as many people as possible with Sikhi.
Bhai Sarbjit Singh Dhotian, Head Preacher of the SGPC, served as the stage secretary. Present on the occasion were Punjab Prachar in-charge Kartar Singh, in-charge of secretariat Sri Akal Takht Sahib Bagicha Singh, assistant in-charge Jasvir Singh Longowal and preacher-cum-supervisor Rajpal Singh, among others.
