Youth Congress workers raised slogans, "Bhagwant Mann-Naukari Devo, Nasha Nahi"
FEROZEPUR: Punjab Youth Congress (PYC) today took out a tractor march against drug starting from Gurdwara Saragarhi in Ferozepur to Hussainiwala memorial of martyrs of freedom struggle.
PYC president Mohit Mohindra accompanied by former MLAs Parminder Singh Pinki and Kulbir Singh Zira led the tractor march. Large number of locals and youth congress workers from all over the state participated in the march. They raised slogans "Bhagwant Mann-Naukari Devo, Nasha Nahi".
While addressing the youth congress workers at Grain Market here said that AAP government had failed to eradicate drugs, though three years had passed. He said that acting against drug users and small peddlers would not eliminate drug menace. He said that youth was main victim of the drug abuse and problem will further complicate unless big wish is caught and punished.
Mohindra said that Indian Youth Congress president Uday Bhanu Chib was personally monitoring the campaign against drugs and youth congress is creating awareness and mobilizing the youth to fight the drug menace. He thanked the youth workers for reaching in high number.
Parminder Singh Pinki said that fighting against drugs was priority of Congress party. He condemned the AAP government for going soft on drug lords. He said that AAP had ruined the Punjab and all sections of society have been protesting against the Bhagwant Mann government. He condemned the police action against farmers and demanded to compensate the farmers for their loss.
Kulbir Singh Zira said that drug problem was severe in the border areas and drug smugglers were still operating without any fear of law. He said that selected action against small peddlers is not solution of the drug problem. He demanded to arrest big drug smugglers.
