PHAGWARA:Former Punjab Minister and Chairman of Punjab Agro Industries Corporation Joginder Singh Mann today said that denial of permission to Jatha for Sri Nankana Sahib by Modi government reflects the myopic mindset of BJP led government towards minorities especially the Sikhs.

In a statement issued here today, the former Minister said that it is unfortunate that since independence probably for the first time pilgrimage to Sri Nankana Sahib has been stalled. He said that action clearly demonstrates the anti-minorities stance of the Modi government. Mann said that this action is totally unwarranted and undesirable as pilgrimage to Sri Nankana Sahib is a cherished aspiration of every Sikh.

The Chairman of Punjab Agro Industries Corporation said that this outrageous action of the Modi government has bruised the psyche of every Punjabi in general and Sikhs in particular. Mann said that this action clearly proves that Modi government is hell bent upon hurting the feelings of the Sikhs, which cannot be tolerated at any cost. He said that Sikhs will not accept these type of irrational decisions of the Modi government and will oppose this tooth and nail.

The former Minister said that this action along with the stance of government on draconian farmers bill has time and again proved that Modi Government is completely insensitive towards Punjab and its residents. He said that Modi government is trying to incite the Sikhs by such provocative gestures which is not in the interests of the country. Mann asked the Modi government to refrain from such actions which can have far reaching consequences.
