CHANDIGARH: Today, the Punjab Congress in-Charge Devendra Yadav, PPCC Chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, AICC Spokesperson Anshul Avijit, and PCC Chief Spokesperson Arshpreet Singh Khadial addressed the media at the Punjab Congress Bhawan to talk about the upcoming Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from Manipur to Mumbai.
Talking to the media, PPCC Chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring said – “Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is similar to the Bharat Jodo Yatra where we covered areas from Kerala to Kashmir. This time, our aim will be to cover the states which we missed out on from the East to the West of the nation. We will cover a total of 6, 713 kilometres and 110 districts during this 2 month long journey.”
Talking about the Yatra, AICC Spokesperson Anshul Avijit added – “The aim of this journey is similar to that of the Bharat Jodo Yatra. We will have the same energy and emotions which we had during the previous yatra. This beautiful journey will help us connect to the people.”
Commenting further on the same, the AICC Spokesperson said – “It was essential to start the journey from Manipur keeping in mind the struggles the state is going through right now. ‘Nyay’ is the need of the hour for our nation and the state of Manipur. Even though we are facing a number of hurdles for our plans to start the yatra from Manipur, we will still continue our journey from the state.
Commenting on the struggles faced on planning the yatra in Manipur, Arshpreet Singh Khadial, PCC Chief Spokesperson said – “The central government is selective on issues they want to talk about. They have not commented on the problems faced by Manipur for a long time but did not think twice before causing problems for our yatra. They want to sabotage the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra fearing the success that the Bharat Jodo Yatra had.”
Concluding the press conference, State in-charge Devendra Yadav said – “These past days have been really insightful for me. I am sure that the accomplished Punjab Congress workers and leadership are on the right path to bring Punjab to its former glory. During these three days, we have discussed a number of issues and I have understood the concerns and demands of all those I have met. These discussions have helped me understand the day to day working of the party.”
