AMRITSAR: Bhagtanwala dump, which has been a problem for decades in the South Constituency, will be taken out of the city in any case.
This was promised by BJP candidate for forthcoming lok sabha elections Taranjit Singh Sandhu while addressing the Election rally here today.
Taranjit Singh Sandhu said that the garbage dump of will be removed from the city and people have welcomed with cheers.
During the grand booth meeting of Constituency In-charge Harjinder Singh Thekedar, senior BJP leader Gurpratap Singh Tikka and former Senior Deputy Mayor Ajabir Pal Singh Randhawa, and others leaders discussed in detail the demands and problems of the people of the area.
Sandhu told and specially raised the issue of Bhagatan Wale's waste dump. On which Taranjit Singh Sandhu said that his aim is to make Guru Nagar clean and tidy on the lines of Indore. Therefore, there is no question of Bhagtanwala garbage dump being present here.
He assured the people that after the elections, Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister again and the matter of dumping will be taken up with him and this garbage dump will be removed from the city in any case.
He said that it is a matter of great sadness that the people living in its nearby areas are suffering extreme hardship for decades. It is part of a densely populated city. More than 50 thousand people are living here in the surrounding colonies.
He said that the dump gets hot in the summer and catches fire and its toxic fumes cause diseases to the people living in the nearby area. Expressing regret, he said that none of the people's representatives, members of parliament, have made an honest effort for its permanent solution. Neither the present AAP government of Punjab is concerned about the people here. He said that Amritsar is the home of praise. Its inhabitants will not be allowed to live a hellish life.
He said that in a special package to be brought from the Center for Amritsar, it will be an important concern to lift the Bhagatwala dump.
He said, choose the person for the Lok Sabha who is capable of doing your work and not just a politician. He said that this election will decide the future of Amritsar.
