PHAGWARA: The Nakodar Sadar police have booked a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) on the charges of firing, endangering life and criminal conspiracy.
Nakodar Deputy Superintendent of police (DSP) Sukhpal Singh said that the accused has been identified as Lovpreet Singh a native of Nangal village in Batala tehsil in Gurdaspur and presently settled in Canada.
Amarjit Singh a resident of Kullar village complained to the police that the accused hiring some gangsters who fired at his house on Saturday which pierced his main gate and damaged a vehicle parked inside.
DSP said a case under sections 125(act endangering life or personal safety of others), 61(2) (criminal conspiracy) 351(2)( criminal intimidation) of the BNS and sections 25 of the Arms Act has been registered against the accused and assistant sub inspector Jaspal Singh, in- charge Uggi police post is conducting further investigation.
