AMRITSAR: Cabinet Minister Punjab Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal administered the oath of office to the newly elected 5526 Panchs of the district .
Attending as the chief guest at the district level ceremony of swearing-in ceremony at Guru Nanak Stadium here today, Mr. Dhaliwal congratulated the Panchas for being elected Gram Panchayat members and took every villager along with new thinking by rising above the politics of revenge. Invited to work for the development of villages.
The cabinet minister said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has ushered in a new era of health, education , employment and public welfare in the state by adopting a new thinking and working politics .
He said that that is why now the new gram panchayats should also move forward with new thinking to make their villages model villages, because Punjab lives in villages , so the face of villages should be changed while keeping a watch on Punjab and Punjabiat.
Dhaliwal told the panchas about the efforts being made by the Punjab government to keep the youth of the state away from drugs under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and appealed to them to join the drug free village mission to make the state drug free.
He asked the Panchs to work jointly in the villages under MGNREGA and to create employment opportunities, saying that even the central government cannot change the MGNREGA budget passed in the villages.
The cabinet minister called for planting more saplings to keep the water and air of the villages clean , to renovate the ponds to use the water from the ponds for agriculture under liquid waste management and to create a plastic-free and garbage-free environment. Emphasized on the implementation of waste management projects.
He said that the promise made by our government to make Punjab free from corruption is not possible without the support of panchayats. So all Panchayats support us.
