Local Bodies Minister Dr. Ravjot Welcomes New Entrants
PHAGWARA: In a significant political development, the entire panchayat of Meheru village in the Phagwara constituency announced its decision to join the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today. The move was reportedly inspired by the efforts of District Planning Board Chairperson Lalit Saklani and AAP Kapurthala District Secretary Ashok Bhatia.
Punjab’s Local Bodies Minister, Dr. Ravjot, extended a warm welcome to the new members, assuring them that the Bhagwant Mann-led government is committed to turning Meheru into a model village. “All pending development works will be prioritized, and no stone will be left unturned in ensuring the holistic development of the village, ” said Dr. Ravjot.
Speaking on the occasion, village sarpanch Rani and panchayat members Malkeet Singh, Santosh Kumari, Gurmeet Kaur, Davinder Sandhu, and Jasbir Kaur expressed their admiration for Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s policies focused on rural development. They stated that their decision to join AAP was driven by their belief that the party is best positioned to fulfill the developmental needs of their village.
Other prominent villagers, including Surinder Sandhu, Surjit Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, and Satbir Singh, also joined the party during the event. AAP leaders present at the gathering assured the new members of full respect and recognition within the party.
Senior AAP leaders Dr. Jatinder Singh Parhar, Joginder Pal Bedi, Ravinder Laddoo, Satish Salhotra Saini, and others were also present at the event.
