BJP’s RMS Chhina Hails New Criminal Laws, Will Provide Speedy Justice to Citizens

AMRITSAR: Senior BJP leader Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina today hailed the newly enforced criminal laws Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and the Bhartiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). While congratulating the Modi government for replacing the old colonial Indian Penal Code (IPC), Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), and the Indian Evidence Act, respectively, he said the new laws would provide speedy justice to common citizens.

Chhina said the old laws have been amended from time to time, but these laws needed drastic and serious changes. “The present Modi led BJP government is committed to the welfare of the people and understands the problem of the common. Thus, understanding the need of the hour, three laws have been passed in the Parliament last year, which have come into effect from July 1st, 2024”, said he.

He said new laws will provide speedy justice to the litigants fighting for their rights and justice for long. Time bound norms have been framed to announce judgments, framing charges for timely delivery of justice to people. He said, the new laws will not only provide the simplification and reduction of sections, but it will enhance focus on crime against Women and Children.

“These new laws aim to modernize India’s criminal justice system by incorporating contemporary legal standards and technological advancements”, he said adding that emphasis has been made on digitalization and modernization which will help in maintaining digital records and accelerate e-governance in the judicial system. “It will significantly reduce paperwork, minimize errors, and enhance the accessibility of case information”, he stated.

The provisions of e-FIR system, creation of digital trail will minimize corruption and the Modi government has rightly addressed the issue of ‘delayed justice is no justice’, said Chhina adding that the main purpose behind implementation of the new laws system is to make the legal process more efficient and reliable. He said the new law system will bring transparency and accountability in law enforcement as per the needs of the society.

“With the implementation of these laws, the present Centre government wants to create a legal framework that is more aligned with its democratic values”, said he adding that the common person is highly delighted over implementation of new laws.
