553rd birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev celebrated with great enthusiasm at Golden Temple Amritsar

AMRITSAR: 553rd birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated with great enthusiasm at at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib here on Tuesday.

On this occasion, a large number of devotees bowed down and expressed their devotion. Thousands of devotees took a holy dip in the sacred sarovar of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib. The entire Golden Temple complex was decorated with colourful lights and firearms was also organized after the bhog of Rehraas sahib path.

A jaloo (an exhibition of ancient traditionl sikh jewelery was held Sri Harmandir Sahib, Akal Takht Sahib and Gurdara Baba Atal Sahib.

After the Bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, Divine Gurbani Kirtan was performed by Ragi Jatha of Bhai Gurbachan Singh. Prayers were offered by Bhai Gurcharan Singh and the Sangat was greeted by Bhai Sukhwinder Singh Bhangala.

A religious diwan (congregation) was held at Gurdwara Manji Sahib in which several raagis dhadi and preacher's recited the gurbani and thrown the light pm teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji.
Raagi jathas were reciting the shabad from Gurbani like Satgur Nanal parhataya mirri dhundh jag chanan how....

While addressing the sangat Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, congratulated the Sikhs of world on the occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Prakash Purab and urged them to follow the teachings of Guru Sahib.

On the occasion of participating in the Nagar Kirtan organized at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib on the occasion of Prakash Purab, Advocate Dhami said that Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji freed humanity from caste discrimination by teaching equality and commonality. Guru Sahib set a unique path in the religious history of the world with the teaching of Naam Japo, Kirat Karo and Vandh Chhoko.

Advocate Dhami congratulated the congregation on the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and said that Gurbani teachings are a source of inspiration for a happy life and it is the duty of all to live their lives by following Gurbani.

Simiiarly gurpurb was also celebrated at various parts othe Punjab. According to reports rom Panchkula a religious diwan was held at gurdwara Nada Sahib , gurdwara Amb Sahib Mohali, , Tarn Taran , Baba Bakala , Goindwal sahib and other parts o Punjab.
