CHANDIGARH: Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, GAIL Gas Limited, in collaboration with the Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (RCED), has successfully installed critical medical equipment in Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs) in Sindri, Rajbari, and Digwadih, as well as the Urban Community Health Centre (UCHC) in Sindri, Dhanbad district.
This project addresses the pressing healthcare needs of socially and economically disadvantaged communities in the region. The installation process, conducted from early to mid-June 2024, involved thorough inspections, operational training for hospital staff, and meticulous verification to ensure the equipment's seamless functionality. The formal handover ceremony on June 18, 2024, was attended by Shri Anil Kumar, General Manager of GAIL Gas Limited, and Dr. C.B. Pratapan, Chief Medical Officer of Dhanbad. This initiative has significantly improved the healthcare services at these centers, reducing the medical cost burden on underprivileged populations and ensuring better healthcare access. The newly installed equipment includes waste bins, storage almirahs, solar panels with inverters and batteries, kidney trays, sanitary pads, baby wraps, aprons, labour tables, examination tables, and weight machines for both adults and babies.
The hospital management and local authorities have expressed their deep appreciation for this vital support. Mr. Paramjit Singh, Director of RCED, extended his gratitude to GAIL for their generous assistance that affirmed that the project has successfully met its objectives of enhancing community healthcare infrastructure and improving the quality of care for the local population.
