CHANDIGARH: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has booked a local lawyer and tan accoplice in an attempt to grab a Rs.30 crore plot in sector 5 here.
The CBI was asked by Punjab and Haryana High Court to probe the case when it found that a fake petition is filed by a lawyer to obtain stay on selling 50 percent share of the property, sold by the original owner Padamjit Singh to a local resident Pritam Kaur wife of Peshaura Singh thind.
CBI after investigation registered a case against taxation lawyer Kapil Khanna and Amardeep Singh Brar son of Darshan Singh Brar resident of sector 11 Chandigarh. They both had hired an advocate Anandeshwar Gautam who drafted the petition. The accused had inforned Gautam that Padamjit had entered a settlement with Pashaura Singh Thind regarding the sale of his interest and title in the suit property for which he has executed some GPA. No documents were presented to advocate. Sharma paid Rs.50, 000 to Gautam as legal fee.
After petition was filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court Peshaura Singh Thind informed Padamjit Singh about the petition. Padamjit Singh who lives in US approached the High Court and informed through his layer that his signatures were forged to file the petition by Khanna.
CBI registered the FIR on March 24, 2021 under sections 120-B, 204, 205, 420, 466, 467, 468 and 471 of IPC for criminal conspiracy, cheating, false personation and prevention of corruption Act etc. against Kapil Khanna son of Brij Mohan Khanna of sector 9, Amardeep Singh Brar son of Darshan Singh Brar and unknown public servant.
