Top experts attend HR conclave at RBU

MOHALI: Rayat Bahra University organised a HR Conclave ‘From Campus to Corporate: Bridging the talent Delta’. The event was organized by the Placement Department of the Rayat Bahra University.

The one-day conclave brought together industry leaders, HR professionals, and experts from diverse sectors to explore strategies for thriving in today’s dynamic workplace. Students gained valuable insights through engaging discussions on the latest trends in HR technology, talent management, and building organisational trust.

Harjeet Khanduja, Senior Vice President (HR), Reliance Jio, said the employability gap is not just the syllabus. It's about the gap between the classroom knowledge and real-life experiences challenges students face. Even the students who are good at academics, fail to adapt to workplace problems, find it challenging to adapt to real life situations like problem-solving under pressure, learning new technologies and collaborating within a team of multi-generational differences. The need is to bridge this gap.

The event commenced with an inspiring welcome address by Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor of Rayat Bahra University, who emphasized the urgent need for HR strategies to align with the aspirations of today’s evolving workforce.

Director of Placement Department Vikram Singh said adopting a strategic, mindful, and human-centric approach to HR is not just an option, but a critical necessity in today’s fast-paced business landscape as he highlighted the importance of adapting HR practices to meet the demands of the modern workplace.

Industry leaders including, Sahil Nayar, Senior Associate Director, KMPG, Sanjeev Parkar, Senior Director, Price Water House Coopers, Abhishek Subhash Gupta, Associate Director, LTI Mindtree (L&T Group), Raj Gupta, Author and General Manager, HR, TCS, Prashant S. Patil, DGM (ER & IR), L&T, Raosaheb Kangane, Senior Vice President (HR), Kotak Mahindra Bank, Ankita Rudra, L&D Specialist, TATA Tele Business, Gunjan Mishra, Head HR, RNF Technologies, Kruti Pancholi, discussed the growing need of Human Resource in complementing human element with technology in talent management.

The conversation highlighted the importance of aligning automation with purpose and ensuring that reskilling efforts align with the future needs of the workforce.

On this occasion, RBU Group's Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor (Dr.) Chander Prakash, Dean Academics Dr. Satish Bansal, Director of Alpha School Sakshi Mehta, and other senior officials of the university were present."
