MOHALI: Eminent entrepreneurs from diverse industries shared their success stories and provided valuable insights on establishing a successful business.
The occasion was Technology Entrepreneurship Summit 2024 with the theme "Role of Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) in Fostering Entrepreneurship Skills” organised by the Technology Business Incubator (TBI) at Rayat Bahra University.
The Chief Guest for the event was Devinder Pal Singh Kharbanda (IAS), CEO of Invest Punjab, and Director of the Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Punjab.
Dr. Dapinder Kaur Bakshi, Joint Director of the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, was the Guest of Honour.
Kharbanda said with the emergence of entrepreneurship and National Education Policy 2020, Higher Educational Institutions (HEI) are increasingly restructuring and realigning their role in the Indian economy .
Entrepreneurship is rapidly emerging as an area of study in developing nations and it continues to assume a greater eminence specifically in the Indian context, he added.
Keynote speakers, renowned entrepreneurs such as Dr. Sandip Garg, Ishpinder Bir, Sahil Sahore, and Nikhil Chandel offered expert advice and guidance on becoming successful entrepreneurs.
Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor of Rayat Bahra University, and Chief Patron of the Summit, expressed optimism that the summit will provide an invaluable platform for students, aspiring entrepreneurs, and industry professionals to learn from successful leaders.
Dr Parvinder Singh, Vice-Chancellor of RBU, said HEIs act as a bridge between the skill-knowledge gap in the society. They are the agents of change and play a major role in regional innovation systems.
Dr Simerjit Kaur, Dean of Students Welfare, and Prof Jasgurpreet Singh, Director Entrepreneurship, RBU, also spoke on the occasion. Dr SK Bansal dean academic along with other senior faculty members were also present.
