KAITHAL: The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Dr. Nandita Kaushik has sentenced four men to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 45, 000 each in the case of murder of a youth. In case of non-payment of fine, they will have to face additional imprisonment of 5-5 months.
In this regard, case was registered in Dhand police station on 17 May 2022 under sections 364, 302, 201, 120-B, 34 IPC. DDA Sukhdeep Singh argued the case on behalf of the prosecution. According to the complaint of Kaul resident Ramphal, his younger brother Sultan had left home in the morning on 16 May 2022 to work as a laborer but did not return. On May 17, Sultan's body was found in the fields of Kaul village on Faral Road. While investigating the case, the team of Police Station incharge Dhand Inspector Rajendra Kumar arrested the accused Rohit, Gaurav, Ram mehar and Vikas, residents of Kaul.
It was also said in the complaint that the deceased Sultan had abused Rammehar, due to which Rammehar, along with his three associates Vikas, Gaurav and Rohit, kidnapped Sultan, took him to the fields of Kaul village, beat him up, strangled him. Put to death. The police collected evidence during the investigation and prepared a challan and submitted it to the court. A total of 16 witnesses were presented in the case. Additional District and Sessions Judge DrNandita Kaushik's court, after hearing both the sides, found Rohit, Gaurav, Rammehar and Vikas guilty of murder in the light of evidence and witnesses and in its 57-page decision sentenced all four culprits to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 45, 000 each.
