MANDI GOBINDGARH: Students of GNM, Faculty of Nursing, Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh visited Kusht Ashram, Khanna. During the visit the students distributed various food items as well as gave a donation of Rs 5, 000 to Kusht Ashram members.
Prof Lovesampuranjot Kaur, Officiating Principal, Faculty of Nursing, said that the visit was planned and executed under the guidance of Dr Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University and Dr Sandeep Singh, President, DBU.
Kaur said that Kusht Seva Ashram (KUKA) is inhabited by a small community of people affected by leprosy. She also said that Kusht Sewa Ashram is where Sri Aghoreshwar started the social work of association in 1961. Sri Aghoreshwar’s aim was to give shelter to the people suffering from leprosy.
Dr Zora Singh congratulated the students for such a thoughtful gesture and encouraged them to keep doing their bit for the welfare of others.
Dr Sandeep Singh also expressed his good wishes to the coordinators Honey Hasteer (Nursing Tutor) and Karanvir Kaur (Nursing Tutor) and organisers of the visit and the students who thought of organizing the visit. He said that as the privileged section of the society, it was our duty to give back to the needy and the sufferers so as to make it a better world.
