Basant Celebration at Khalsa College for Women Amritsar

AMRITSAR: The Student Advisory Committee of Khalsa College for Women (KCW), in collaboration with the Rotract Club of the college, hosted a vibrant Basant Celebration, marking the arrival of the spring season with great zeal and enthusiasm. The event was celebrated with full fervor, featuring active participation from staff and students, all adorned in yellow; the traditional color symbolizing the vibrancy of Basant.

The celebration featured a series of exciting competitions for both students and staff. The Kite Flying competition was a highlight of the day, with Navpreet Kaur of BSc (Fashion Designing) – II taking the first place. Brahmjit Kaur from BCom (Financial Services) – IV secured the second spot, while Muskan Bhalla of BCom (Honors) – IV and Jasmine Kaur of B.Voc. – II shared third place.

In the Kite Making competition, creativity soared as Gurleen of BA – II clinched first place, while Harman of BA – IV and Raman of BA – VI shared second. Aarti of BA – VI and Nandani Bhalla of BCA – II earned third position. The Miss Basant Modeling competition also drew much excitement, with Harmanpreet Kaur of BSc (Economics) – II being crowned Miss Basant. Meenakshi Rana of BCom – IV was named first runner-up. Staff members also joined in the fun, engaging in lighthearted games such as Tongue Twisters and Dumb Charades, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Dean KU, Dr. Surinder Kaur congratulated the winners and expressed her appreciation to the Student Advisory Committee and the Rotaract Club for organizing such a memorable event.
