Kaithal incident is very unfortunate, it is the outcome of BJP's politics of hatred and polarisation: AAP

CHANDIGARH: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) strongly condemned the Kaithal incident where a Sikh man was subjected to hate crime. AAP's senior leader called it an outcome of the BJP's politics of hatred and polarisation. Rajya Sabha member Dr Sandeep Pathak also criticised BJP leader Kangana Ranaut for her comments against Punjab and said that Kangana Ranaut's comments were irresponsible and highly offensive.

In a statement released from the party office on Tuesday, AAP leader said that Punjab is the grain coffer of our country, Punjabis safeguard our borders, so such comments about this state are condemnable. Dr Pathak further said that Punjabis are very hard working and patriotic people. He said that whatever transpired at the Chandigarh airport in this matter is being investigated but such comments against Punjab and Punjabis by a BJP leader are saddening.

Dr Pathak further said that it is the political style of the BJP, they do politics of hatred and polarisation, but just now the whole country has rejected their politics but it seems that the BJP leaders have learnt nothing from it. He added that the BJP and its leaders should refrain from making such statements, the country comes the foremost and it belongs to every Indian. He said that Kangana Ranaut is now a people's representative, she should understand her responsibilities and should not issue rash statements.

About Lok Sabha elections, Dr Pathak said that the Mann government of Punjab is doing very good work and is highly accepted among the people of Punjab. He said that the AAP's workers and volunteers worked the hardest during Lok Sabha elections, we performed much better than the last general elections which is very encouraging for the volunteers. He added that Lok Sabha elections are different and it always has different narratives from assembly elections. He said that the aim of the AAP is to promote the politics of work, schools, hospitals and good governance and they are successfully doing that.
