Two held by police in two different cases for duping youths of lakhs of rupees promising to send them to USA

KAITHAL: Two accused were arrested in 2 separate cases by the Economic Cell of police who duped youths of lakhs of rupees promising to send them abroad to America.. Police spokesperson said that he wanted to go abroad according to the complaint of Prateek, a resident of village Harnampura district.

For this, he went with his uncle Rajesh and interacted with Rohtash, a resident of village Badar district Panipat. Rohtash promised to send prateek to America for Rs 38 lakh On this, the accused Rohtash took documents from his family members. On 17 January, 2023 Rohtash sent him from Delhi to Dubai and later sent him to Nepal from Dubai after 10 days. On 7 February, a man sent by accused Rohtash came to Nepal and took his passport. After that, the two accused together kidnapped him from there and forcibly sent a message to the house that he had reached Mexico. The accused called his family that your son had reached America. Saying this, the accused called his family members near Keorak at the Green Valley Hotel. His family gave Rs 35 lakh to the accused. The accused, as well as many other boys, were held hostage in Nepal. Later, Nepal's police rescued him and others and on 24 February he reached his house. After coming here, when he asked for his money back from the accused, Rohtash gave only 99 thousand rupees back. On asking for the rest of the money, the accused threatened to kill him. Rohtash was accompanied by Praveen, Ashok, Ishwar, Ishwar, and Bajindra of village Baknaur district Ambala.

The five accused together cheated him Rs 34 lakh. The case was registered in the police station Sadar, investigating the said case by the team of ASI Manoj Kumar, led by Inspector Chandrabhan in -charge, arrested Ashok, a resident of Bhola Khalsa village of district Karnal.

The spokesperson said that in the second case, according to the complaint of Sajjan Kumar, a resident of village Atela, Mohit, the director of Future Height Immigration Point Kaithal, Karna, resident of village Dhachar and Kyodak resident Amit, work abroad. He met the accused in his office to send his grandson Devendra Kumar to America. The accused asked for Rs 45 lakh to send his grandson abroad and said that first 10 lakh rupees and the necessary documents of the grandson should be submitted. On September 8, 2023, he took the cash and documents. After that, he started asking to give more money. Later, he took a total of 16 lakh 51 thousand rupees from him at different times. Even after that, the accused did not send his grandson abroad. When he asked for his money back, he was threatened with dire consequences. On complaint by victims The case was registered in the police station Sadar. Mohit, a resident of Ashoka Colony Kaithal, was arrested by the team of PSI Sandeep Kumar of Economic Cell, investigating the case. Both the above accused were produced in the court on Saturday, and taken on remand for further investigation.
