The SGPC demanded passports from the pilgrims going to Pakistan

AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has demanded passports from the sangat for the pilgrims to be sent to the shrines in Pakistan on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of the fifth Patshah Guru Arjan and the death anniversary of Shere Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Both the groups are scheduled to be sent to Pakistan in June 2022.
Mahinder Singh Ahli said that for the pilgrims going to Pakistan on the occasion of Guru Arjan's martyrdom and Maharaja Ranjit Singh's death anniversary, the devotees can send their passports till March 25, 2022 at the office of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Amritsar. He said that the devotees wishing to join the Jatha should submit their passports along with their identity card along with the recommendation of the member Shiromani Committee.
A copy of Ration Card, Aadhaar Card or Voter Card can be provided for the identity card.
He said that the pilgrims should submit their passports on time so that they could be sent to the government for further action. Secretary Ahli said that the pilgrims can contact the SGPC on 0183-2553957, 58 and 59 telephone numbers to get the information.
