Sikh community in Maharashtra also demanded the repeal of the Agriculture laws

AMRITSAR: The Sikh community in Maharashtra has demanded the repeal of three agriculture laws passed by the Union Minister of State for Panchayats, Shri Kapil Moreshwar Patil, in favor of a nationwide farmers' struggle.

A delegation of Sikh Sangats from Navi Mumbai led by Bhai Jaspal Singh Sidhu, Chairman, Supreme Council, Navi Mumbai Gurdwaras, met Kapil Moreshwar Patil, recently appointed Minister of State for Panchayats in the Modi Government and apprised him of the Government of India. He wished the people of the state of Maharashtra success in this new assignment.

According to Prof. Sarchand Singh, the delegation handed over a memorandum on the occasion and said that the farmers of the country have been protesting for the last nine months against the three agricultural bills passed by the Central Government at the Delhi border and demanded its withdrawal.

He appealed to Mr. Kapil Patil to put due pressure on the Central Government to withdraw the three Agriculture Bills and to use his status and influence for a lasting solution acceptable to the farmers.
